While not the first Lego game, I would argue that Lego Star Wars the Video Game is the game that started the franchise on the role that it is on now. As I write this there are five Lego Star Wars games with a sixth one due to be released! This franchise is massive and as someone who loves Star Wars and loves Lego this game was the perfect mix for me and I feel it holds up pretty well to this day.

The Next Episode

The story of the game is actually a three-peat. By that I mean you get to play through the Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. Despite what many people say, I like the prequel trilogy! Lego Star Wars the Video Game gives each of the three movies its own space in the game. You start with The Phantom Menace and once you are there, you then have to play through a series of chapters.

Lego Star Wars the Video Game follows the events of the movies pretty well. There is no voice acting in this game like there is with modern Lego games. However, they get the story across in the cut scenes very well and the game overall has a ton of personality to it.

Messa So Pretty!

The visuals of the game hold up very well. I will say that the more modern Lego games look far sharper, but that is to be expected. The real joy about these games is that everything in the game world is made from Lego. All of the characters from Anakin to Jar Jar to Yoda look fantastic in the game and there is never any point when you do not know who someone is supposed to be.

As well as looking good, Lego Star Wars the Video Game also sounds great too. It features many pieces of music from the movies and I love the sound effects of the lightsabers and blasters too. Let’s not forget that awesome sound of Lego breaking or being built. I do wish that they had included voice acting, but I can deal with it.

Come On Everybody, You Can All Play

A huge appeal of the Lego video games is that they can be enjoyed by anyone no matter their age or skill level of playing video games. Each level is pretty structured. You will be attacking enemies and solving simple puzzles to move the story forward. You will also have to deal with boss battles too. I would say that pretty much anyone can beat this game.

However, the “challenge” comes from getting all of the stuff. There are a ton of characters to unlock, mini kits to find, and a ranking system of reach level where you collect a large number of studs. Certain characters have different abilities to ranging from using the force to using a blaster. The Lego games are just a lot of fun to play, yes you could argue they are mindless, but they are mindless fun.

So far as I write this the only game in the core Lego games series, I have not really enjoyed is The Lego Movie 2. Apart from that, I have had a great time with every game in the series and it all started here with Lego Star Wars the Video Game. I will admit that the later games are much better than this and, in all honesty, you are far better playing the Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga than this. However, I cannot overlook just how much of an important game this was. Plus, while the later Lego games and Lego Star Wars games, in particular, are better, this one here is still a fun time.

In jabba's palace go to the big hole (turn on extra toggle) jump in the hole as a regular character on a b'omarr monk and then switch to the wamprat and enjoy.

After completeing Jabba's Palace, play on freeplay as a gonk droid. Make the big hole in the floor, then get on the spider with a regular character and fall into the hole and before you die swich to the gonk droid. When you respawn you have a Gonk on a Spider.(For best effect use invincibility [to keep you from losing $$$]. ).

As you may know, you can get easy money by hitting the barrels outside the cantina. But what you don't know is what to do when they runout. The easy way to get these barrels back is by watching a video clip after they runout. Once the clip is over, go back outside and you will see all the barrels back. Do this over and over again, and you will end up with a lot of money.

NOTE:You can only make up 3 or 4 clones at a time. You need to have completed Jabba's Palace level. You need to have a person on the dark side. First you need to kill all of the Gamorean Guards and shut their things that they come out of. Go to the room with the big hole in it. Switch to your sith and make the hole. Hop on a spider. Ride it into the hole and press triangle then jump and the spider should respawn and fall in again. All you see is you switch to the character you want to clone then press X. You have a clone.

NOTE:You need to have the self destruct power brick. First get a character that can drive. Then press triangle then switch to the droid and press O. Now you have a droid that can drive. NOTE: You can get hit from enemies while you are a driod inside a vehicle.

To kill Jabba you have to unlock the room with Jabba's face above it. To do that you have to get all the bounty hunters. You also have to unlock SUPER EWOK CATAPULT. So once you've done that, you become a ewok and have SUPER EWOK CATAPULT on. When you see Jabba come press Square at him and the little ball will hit the counter and explode and Jabba will be gone and then he'll come back and you can do it again and again.

To get the power brick, just go to the level where you fight the emperor. On both sides are four red squares. Be Darth Vader and force them all as quickly as possible. Don't forget to hold down the force button until it stops!

To use self destruct, change or switch to a droidand press circle. You cannot be a jedi or anyother blaster character.

After finishing the final episode level, Anakin's,Obi-Wan's, and Yoda's ghosts will appear in thecharacter purchasing counter. They have heftyprice tags, but they are worth every stud: theyare invincible AND invisible to enimies. So startsaving up for them...

To get easy cash just go outside and kill thebarrels on the sides of the walls.

Press 'Square, Square, X' on the controller to beable to jump extra high.

If you want all the characters from the first gameavailable for free play in the second game, thereare three easy steps to make that possible. First,make sure you have saved the first game on thesame memory card that you have the second gamesaved on. Next, Go to the Cantina and go toextras. Then, buy the icon with Yoda's face on it.You will have to go to the paused menu and turnthe second extra on. Now, go to any level and pickfree play and you will have twice as manycharacters to choose from!

To unlock Lobot for purchase, go to the MosEisley Cantina, go to the counter,select 'cheats' at the menu, and put in UUB319.Alternatively, complete the level 'Betrayal OverBespin', and purchase him in 'characters' at theCantina counter.

Use the cheat 'CL4U5H' and 'TYH319'. Construct acharacter with a red hat, red clothes, blackbelt, white cape (optional), black gloves(hands), a weapon of your choice, and Obi-Wan'shead. Then, in the start menu, select extras, godown to 'disguise' and toggle through it untilyou reach the number 3. Go play as him in freeplay.
